Sunset sail. Just missed the whales who made fast time on a flood tide. Nevertheless barbecued salmon supper as the Pelagic cormorants settled in for the night on Lovers Leap we could imagine the whales in their world. Sailing back between Speiden and the Cactus Islands and the full moon rose pulling tides and currents around us as we enjoyed a mug of hot chocolate. Late September sailing and the ocean is ours alone, together with communities of wildlife who live as they have for thousands of years. Simplicity, serenity, beauty, magic.
