Picked up folks from The Edenwild for a sail around Lopez. After riding the rapids passed Dead Mans Island and Whole Rocks and sailing through the maze of Islands South of Lopez with a large number of Dalls Porpoise we anchored in the hidden cove of McArdle Bay. Explored the remote cliffs and beaches we found buried treasured sea glass. Continued North into Rosario while the Resident orcas headed south from Georgia Strait, Canada. When we heard the Residents had taken Presidents Channel we took Harney Channel to meet them in Spring Pass at sunset. The hydrophone opened their world to us with riveting vovcalizations. With the moonrise we continued south with the whales at night down San Juan Channel passing Friday harbor to Lopez Fishermans Bay.
Bullfrog skiff makes a fun stable tender for shore excursions – is also a real little boat in its own right that we’ve taken on serious voyages across the straits
