We sailed south on the ebb and again met group A of the J’s – this time at Long Island. We sailed up island alongside traveling in a linear line spread for 5 miles. With the leaders reaching Lime Kiln Point there were calls, then all whales changed course traveling fast to meet group B of the J’s arriving from the West over Beaumont Shoals. After a brief greeting ceremony they again spread wide over the San Juan shore line. We continued on the flood to the North as did the whales, leaving them at Battleship near sunset. Are there enough Chinnok salmon to support all the Js? We’ll find out
