June 29, 2017 – Cast off at noon to pick up our passengers near Fishermans Harbor on Lopez Island when we hear of a humpback whale right outside of Friday Harbor. A quick visit with the HB before sailing south on the ebb through Cattle Pass to meet the Southern Resident Killer Whales from J Pod, the K14’s, and L87. Great K pod vocals as we arrived. Headed north up the west side of San Juan Island with the J16’s until everyone decided to flip and head back south when they reached Whale Watch Park. Downwind to New Channel – one of our favorite places and sailing off into the sunset.
