June 30 2017 – A second trip and a continuation of a phenomenal day. T36, T36B’s, T37A’s met up with T51 and T99’s after supper to cruise the shoreline of Blakely Island and out through Thatcher Pass. Leaving this scene we came back in time to see the T49A’s entering Friday Harbor from the north, traveling inside of Brown Island. A presumed seal predation event took place outside of Shipyard Cove at sunset. Orca whale minds are known for large and complex emotional regions with a whole section beyond the Neo Cotex, but it seems to us that fear does not appear to be one of them I think as watching them hunting within the harbor.
