August 1, 2017 – Sailed south down San Juan Channel. A visit to Goose Island and out to Salmon Bank to find a minke whale – and we did. He/she was curious giving us two close passes while we were drifting in the wind. We decided to sail around Lopez hugging the beautiful coastline all the way. Strange light from a red sun due to forest fires up north in British Columbia made for interesting photographs. Peregrine falcons calling during our supper in the sunset.
