May 10, 2018 – A special 80th birthday sail in the San Juans. With light winds we threaded our way through the islands to circle Flattop Island, a beautiful National Wildlife Refuge. Harbor seals were grouped together in large colonies. Adult and juvenile bald eagles watched from above. The islands remain splashed in colors of the spring wildflower bloom. Just a few sleepy sea lions remain at Green Point in deep slumber. Perhaps preserving their energy for their long journey ahead in the coming weeks. The chocolate cake was delicious!
