Several transient orca matrilines, T86A’s, T101’s, T102, and T124A2’s

May 31, 2018 – North through Spring Pass to Flattop Island before heading west into New Channel. We moved quickly to catch several transient orca matrilines, T86A’s, T101’s, T102, and T124A2’s, who were coming south around Turn Pt while two humpbacks were headed north to Turn Pt lighthouse. We sailed alongside the orcas as they traveled towards Spieden Island. The whales milled for some time as they stopped for a bite to eat north of Battleship Island before continuing south down Haro Strait. On our return we found two steller sea lions and one California sea lion swimming together passed Friday Harbor. Cool.
