July 2nd, 2018 – morning half day sail – We sailed north from Friday Harbor with the flood while a black oyster catcher flew by going south with a limpet in his mouth. Lots of baby harbor seal pups popping up all around our favorite places. Harbor porpoises in small groups racing and porpoising north of Jones Island. We drifted from Flattop Island into New Channel which was alive with current flowing through the kelp forests. Black oyster catchers, bald eagles, pigeon guillemots and harbor seal pups called out. Drifted the forested shoreline of Spieden Island and motor sailed the south grassland shoreline.
