July 8, 2018 – Sailed North tacking our way passed the islands of Wasp Pass and into Spring Pass. On hearing of the T124As and T36As heading south in Georgia Strait we plotted a course to meet them. We sailed The Orcas Island shoreline of Presidents Channel and saw an eagle in confrontation with a pair of ravens. Crossing to Waldron Island and visiting the harbor seals of Bare Rock and Skipjack Island. We witnessed a mum teaching her pup to climb out of the water onto a sloping rock. Continuing on passed Patos Island we met the Transient Orcas a little North of Alden Point Lighthouse. We watched as they circled and milled before coming close to shore of Patos Island and engaging in a hunt. We left the whales to begin our return by way of Point Doughty where we had supper and watched Peregrine Falcons who also seemed to be engaged in eating something on the cliff top. Beautiful light as we hugged the Orcas island shoreline finding more eagles. We took Pole Pass between Orcas Island and Crane Island and came in to Orcas Island ferry dock.
