July 10, 2018 – Sailed north on the flood and after cruising the shoreline of Yellow Island wing on wing to Green Pt. From halfway down the shoreline of Spleden Island we cut north through the Cactus Islands and Ripple Island. Lots of eagles, harbor seals in the kelp forest, noisy oyster catchers – so much life in New Channel. We hugged the shoreline of Johns and Stuart Island branching off near Turn Point to meet transient orcas T124’s (minus T124A1 and T124A2’s) and T36A’s near Moresby Island. We traveled north together leaving them at Navy Channel to take a new route home through Plumper Sound to Java Rocks. Many many eagles on Java Rocks eager over the placentas of newborn seal pups. So much so that a mother and newborn pup left their haul out for the water to get away from the harassment of the eagles. We cut across to White Rock and Flattop Island (National Wildlife Refuges) with more eagles and witnessed sunset as we passed Yellow Island.
