September 17th 2018 – Sailed North through Spieden Channel meeting J pod on the South Side of Stuart Island heading to Turn Point Lighthouse. We were joined by Lisa Lamb, the happy hermit of Stuart Island, who paddled out to join us. On crossing Boundary Pass into Canada we were surrounded by Pacific White Sided dolphins who emanated pure joy leaping around us. Rejoining J pod in tight family groups slow travel along Pender Bluffs. Sailed back via New Channel where the kelp forest was at its prime and Flattop Island rich in cooler with evening light. An exceptional day on the water.
