June 23, 2019 – A spectacular 3 hour sunset and pre-birthday family sail!
As we left the harbor we raised the main sail and decided to reef as winds were moderate for sailing. With a comfortable heel we passed close to the Wasp Islands and up to Jones Island for a better view of the sunset.
Dark clouds gave way to the sun as it’s rays burst through the clouds. The emerging sun provided warmth on our sail across to McConnell Island where we enjoyed a special birthday treat. Each of the kids took the helm and did an excellent job keeping the boat under sail without any luffing of the sails.
