June 28, 2019 – Glassy still seas with pretty island reflections. Harbor seals rested on Flattop Island and pigeon guillemots were getting settled before bed.
Zigging and zagging as we navigated the rocks and islands in New Channel. Peace and serenity as we drifted down the forested shoreline on the north side of Spieden Island. The south side was buzzing with more exotic animals then we’d seen in awhile. We spotted a mouflon sheep with a tiny newborn lamb. A mother fallow deer also had a small fawn tucked under and behind her as they chomped on the dry grass. A group of Sika deer stood under a large tree as we sailed by. Many more mouflon sheep/rams were busy running along the shoreline and climbing up the steep banks.
A tranquil setting sun with many diving birds gathered in San Juan Channel as we made our way back to port.
