July 3, 2019 – A special birthday surprise for one of our passengers with the T65B’s and T65A2 hanging out in Griffin Bay as we set sail. This is the second day in a row that they’ve been in this area. The orcas travelled across towards Lopez Island up to Flat Point, and continued up Upright Channel exactly as they had done the day before.
We said so long to the orcas and sailed across to Upright Head. We found a peregrine falcon flying and calling. He/she landed in a tree giving us some good looks through the binoculars.
One of our passengers spotted something running on the rocks… it turned out to be a mink. We sailed alongside as it ran quickly up and down the rocks for quite a length of shoreline. It was very cute. Eventually he got to where he was going and disappeared up the beach. Every trip is different!
