Half day sail on a rainy day

September 12, 2019 – Shortly after leaving the harbor we found a pretty cool group of river otters climbing out of the water and running up the hillside. Following that a red tailed hawk flew by (not something we commonly see). A pair of belted kingfishers played nearby calling and flying from tree to tree near Pt Caution. We were thankful to have made it to Flattop Island National Wildlife Refuge before the rains came. It was there where we found a bald eagle near his nest and bunches of harbor seals resting on the shoreline. There were layers of islands emerging from the foggy mist as the clouds moved on by.
