A half day sail in October with dramatic skies

October 3, 2019 – What a special day shared with friends, new and old. Unbelievable skies, good winds for sailing with occasional heart pumping gusts close to Orcas Island shoreline as we made our way up Presidents Channel towards Lovers Cove. Many bald eagles and a peregrine falcon watched us sail by.

We didn’t see Mickey Mouse at Pt Disney but we looked. Rain began to fall from the nearby clouds moving in from the west and we changed course to sail to Flattop Island and back toward home. Zipping in-between the rain clouds we managed to stay dry just about the entire sail. This was a perfect half day October sail.
