May 10, 2020 – A Happy Mother’s Day! The three humpbacks that visited Friday Harbor today all had calves last year.
We heard an earlier report of humpbacks coming down Presidents Channel. As they approached Friday Harbor we hopped out to see them. BCX1068 ‘Split Fluke’ was traveling with BCX1210 ‘Slate’ and BCX0915 ‘Fallen Knight’ was trailing behind. ‘Split Fluke’ and ‘Slate’ turned at Brown Island to head back north against the ebb while ‘Fallen Knight’ continued south.
