October 5, 2020 – Thanks today to Jim Maya for helping with today’s sunset sail. Sailing beam reach over Reid Rock to Shaw Island and a peaceful wing on wing sail along the Shaw coastline. We took the pass inside Canoe Island to Picnic Point with a view of Mount Baker as we crossed to Upright Head. The steep cliffside of the Lopez forested shoreline was well lit by the late afternoon sun. Jim pointed upwards and we caught a brief glimpse of a Peregrine Falcon. There are many more cormorants roosting on the cliff face North of Odlin Park. After clearing Flat Point the wind picked up enough for a close hauled sail into the setting sun.
