March 6, 2021 – Our sail began with exciting news of Biggs/Transient orcas heading up the coastline along the east side of Orcas Island from Lawrence Pt. We plotted a course up the west side towards the top of the island to meet them. As the orcas reached Parker Reef they changed course in the direction of East Point. It was fantastic to sail with the oldest male transient orca, T87, estimated 59 years old. He was with the T124A2’s – a mother and two offspring. As we returned to the harbor we stopped to celebrate with birthday cupcakes.
