April 26, 2021 – Such beautiful, glassy conditions as we left the harbor reflecting the awesome cloudscapes in the sky. A bald eagle napped as we sailed along the San Juan coastline. Passing Low Island we spotted the first goslings of the year exploring the rocks as mom and dad stood by to protect them. Black oystercatchers called out and foraged along the low tideline. A large group of double crested cormorants was swimming together nearby. The highlight of the day was a shore excursion to visit Yellow Island Nature Preserve. What a spectacular scene full of wildflowers bursting with color. This place is a paradise. We also visited Green Pt on Spieden Island where the sea lions were either quite drowsy or rambunctious as they sparred with one another.
