Short sail wildlife tour

June 1, 2021 – A fantastic short sail. After casting off we had a fast close hauled sail towards Shaw Island which was interrupted by a Steller sea lion chowing down on something large. He thrashed it around at the surface while a few gulls lingered looking for scraps. On the Shaw coastline we found a couple bald eagles in the vicinity of their nest. Harbor seals were warming up in the sunshine by Hicks Bay, Turn Island and Danger Rock. Once again we spotted the black naked seal. A raccoon was walking the beaches on Turn Island looking for brunch.
