Sunset sail with Biggs/Transient orcas T34’s

July 15, 2021 – Winds had dropped substantially since our eerier sail so we shook out the reefs and sailed in light air out across the channel. Came in towards Pt George, Shaw Island, where the sunlight lit up the forested coastline in a golden hue. We lucked out and saw the T34’s porpoising towards us. They passed us and continued northwest and into the sunset. They were probably racing to catch back up with the T37’s who passed us on our earlier sail across from Friday Harbor. Meanwhile the T65A’s ventured towards East Sound, Orcas Island.
