July 18, 2021 – After leaving the harbor we crossed the channel to check out the eagle’s nest on Shaw Island. We crossed Upright Channel to Upright Head to see another eagle’s nest before exiting Peavine Pass into Rosario Strait. There were two groups of orcas southbound. The T137’s with T36A2 and T36A3 were near Cypress Island and the T65A’s were coming south from Lawrence Pt. We met the T65A’s just north of Obstruction Pass and sailed south with them along the beautiful Blakely coastline. The orcas keep going south but we came in through Thatcher Pass and decided to return to Friday Harbor by taking Harney Channel and cutting through the Wasp Islands. A fantastic day on the water.
