August 14, 2021 – An exciting sail seeing the Biggs/Transient orca family known as the T18’s as the came down Presidents Channel on the north side of Orcas Island. Mom, T19, was with son, T19B, trailing and T18 was with her grandson T19C leading the way farther ahead. Stunning views as we sailed alongside the orcas with such a beautiful backdrop. As we got to Jones Island we saw the leaders deep in the bay near the boats in the small harbor. As the orcas exited the harbor they hugged the shoreline passing right by a couple snorkelers. T18 and T19C continued on very quickly and it wasn’t easy to catch up until they had stopped back behind us near the Jones shoreline again. We waited by Yellow Island and had a nice view as they passed.
