Orcas T34’s and T37’s at the bottom of San Juan Island

August 17, 2021 – After leaving the harbor we headed south quickly to catch a group of Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T34’s and T37’s at the bottom of San Juan Island. The orcas were headed north up the west side of the island.

After some great views it was time to start heading back to Friday Harbor, but we couldn’t do so without seeing some of our other favorite wildlife areas. We stopped at Whale Rocks to see the Steller sea lions and sailed by Deadman Island where we found a bald eagle, a great blue heron and many harbor seals. As we continued up San Juan Channel we were treated to a very pretty sunset and a bright moon.
