June 15, 2022 – We saw lots of wildlife including bald eagles, harbor seals, harbor porpoise, black oystercatchers, various diving birds, and the highlight was a pair of humpback whales in Canada along Saturna Island. The humpback whales are identified as BCX1251 “Orion” and BCX1057 “Divot”. Divot has 4 offspring and she is a grandmother of two. Orion is a male. Maybe a courtship is going on since they’ve been spending so much time together lately 🙂
