June 26, 2022 – We sailed south out of Cattle Pass and got some distant views of the Southern Resident orcas from J Pod and had a really nice encounter with several minke whales on Salmon Bank. Harbor seals were basking in the sun, Cormorants were tending to their nests, Rhinoceros auklets were catching beakfuls of fish before returning to their roost, and Steller sea lions were still haggling with each other into the sunset.
