July 30, 2022 – A great sail down San Juan Channel. Passed Goose Island where the cormorants and gulls nest. A visit to Whale Rocks to see the harbor seals and Steller sea lions. Out to Salmon Bank where we found a minke whale. Cruised around the south end of Lopez Island with dramatic scenery and around to Bird Rocks where we found a sea otter, harbor seals, cormorants and gulls with chicks. Inter-island to Upright Head where we found a bald eagle and pretty evening light illuminating the forest on the steep cliff. Back down Upright Channel and back to Friday Harbor.
