August 24, 2022 – We sailed south after leaving Friday Harbor. As we came through the pass by Turn Island we found a deer and a raccoon exploring the island and lots of harbor seals hauled out by Pear Point. Goose Island was full of nesting cormorants and gulls. At Whale Rocks the Steller sea lions were joined by a rare visitor today… a sea otter! Such an exciting sighting. Out on Salmon Bank we found multiple minke whales and hundreds of diving birds. On the way back by Deadman Island we spotted a bald eagle and more harbor seals.
