September 14, 2022 – We got to see some cool wildlife including a humpback whale named BCZ0414 “Zephyr” as it swam south passing Friday Harbor, harbor porpoise, harbor seals, Steller sea lions – including a few sharing what looked like a skate, great blue herons, black oystercatchers, lots of diving birds including common murres and cormorants plus some others… surf scoters, loons calling, rhinoceros auklets and pigeon guillemots. We motor sailed along the south coast of Lopez Island to Castle Rock and came back via Salmon Bank hoping to find a minke whale but no joy.
