May 8, 2023 – After our earlier encounter with orcas T65A’s we went on a shore excursion to Jones Island. As we were leaving we heard that another group of Transient orcas were coming east in Spieden Channel not too far away. We met up with the T18’s who did their predictable route like we’ve seen many times before. They come up Haro Strait, taking Spieden Channel towards Green Pt, crossing to Flattop Island to hunt seals and up to either Gull Rock or White Rock. The sound of their exhales was just awesome and their backlit blows breathtaking.
