July 8, 2023 – Today we cast off with friends old and new with a plan to honor a dear friend who passed away last April. It was a beautiful day – a perfect day. We went south with a plan to sail to Castle Rock. Winds were just right for a peaceful sail down San Juan Channel where we all enjoyed a delicious picnic feast. After passing Goose Island we checked out the Steller sea lions by Whale Rocks. We cut inside of Long Island passing a bald eagle, and hugged the gorgeous south Lopez coastline down to Castle Rock. Here we tossed flowers into the sea and shed some tears as we shared thoughts and stories. A very special sail which we’ll always remember.
