April 17, 2024 – We sailed South through Turn Island Pass, down through Cattle Pass to Cattle Point Lighthouse and out to Whale Rocks. From there we went around Long Island and sailed Davis Bay, in through the pass of Deadman Island and back up San Juan Channel to the South entrance to Friday Harbor. Our trip was accompanied with views of a gray whale which we spotted shortly after leaving the harbor, Steller sea lions, many groups of harbor seals, bald eagles two of which were calling together near a nest, a great blue heron and more. A beautiful sailing day for sure.
