June 23, 2024 – After leaving Friday Harbor we moved quickly from Turn Island toward Upright Channel with news of Biggs/Transient orcas T123’s and T86A3’s northbound in Rosario Strait. The T65B’s were also southbound from Toe Point by the north end of Cypress Island. After a close pass of the cliff face of Upright Head we sailed across to the shoreline of Blakely Island and met the T123’s and T86A3’s outside of Thatcher Pass. We watched them come in the pass and circle Willow Island and go back out of the pass. They then crossed towards Anacortes and we continued our journey along the Blakely Island shoreline. The T65B’s were close to Blakely Island pointing south but drifting north in the current. We came in through Peavine Pass and returned via Canoe Island Pass seeing the sunset as we crossed San Juan Channel.
