A Foggy sail to Whale Rocks

August 7, 2024 – After casting off we came inside Turn Island seeing the harbor seals warming in the sun. Tacked our way sailing down the channel until we became engulfed by fog. We stayed close to shore in a magical landscape catching glimpses of harbor seals and then the Steller sea lions at Whale Rocks. The Stellers were quite boisterous in their play fighting. We continued south to Salmon Bank breaking clear of the fog finding active bait balls but no minke whales today. Returned by way of Goose Island making good time on the flood current.
