A Full Day Sail with T60D+E and T49As

August 16, 2024 – We started our sail in a southerly direction viewing the wildlife through Turn Island Pass. On hearing of orcas Northbound into Haro Strait we changed course to a Northerly direction. Sailed the flood current along the Shaw Island coastline with some great views of bald eagles and harbor seals. Wing on wing sailing from Wasp Pass to Limestone Point. Hugged the Coastline of Spieden Channel to catch the back eddies of the flood and then came into Roche Harbor to take Mosquito Pass.
We met the T60 brothers T60D and T60E who’d just met up with the T49A’s (minus T49A1 and T49A2). T49A3 was playfully traveling with T60E while T60D was with the 49A’s. The T49A’s took Mosquito Pass to Roche Harbor while the T60 brothers parted taking the West side of Henry Island. They passed each other at Battleship Island with the T49A’s heading North towards Turn Point while the T60 brothers crossed Spieden Channel from Posey Island to Sentinel Island. We stayed close to San Juan Island on our return to Friday Harbor.
