T75Bs in San Juan Channel

August 23, 2024 – A spur of the moment sail was arranged as Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T75B’s were heading up San Juan Channel. As we departed Friday Harbor the orcas were just moving on after circling a harbor seal on a some floating kelp for over 30 minutes. That was one lucky seal!  The orcas traveled up the Shaw Island coast before crossing the channel towards Friday Harbor. As they headed north close to the San Juan shoreline they slowed down in slow resting travel. After some awesome views we broke away to sail across the channel to Low Island to see the harbor seals relaxing on the rocks. Had a nice sail down the channel back to the harbor.
